Party wall surveys

Before starting any building work you need to check whether the ‘Party Wall’ act applies for your particular project.​​

If you have a shared wall and are carrying out building works within 3 metres of the party wall you may need a Party Wall Award​. The Party Wall Act is separate from obtaining planning permission or building regulations approval.

Building surveys

This is the most comprehensive report which we recommend if the property is larger, older, in a conservation area, unique or in need of repair/renovation.​

The cost of these surveys vary as do the size and complexity of properties they cover, but generally range from £575 – £950

Home buyers survey

This survey will advise you on any maintenance and repair issues, as well as giving a general overview of the condition and suitability of the property.​​

We offer this survey for properties that are older, or of traditional construction but of an age where maintenance issues are starting to arise​. For a brief explanation please watch the video ‘the importance of getting a home buyers report’.

Damp survey

All our Damp Surveys are bespoke and will vary in the amount of content, but will have the following information in them.​
A summary of the condition found.

  • The extent of the issue (as far as can be determined within the confines of the survey)
  • A recommendation as to how to remedy the problem.
  • A broad brush costing of the work to be undertaken.

The cost of these surveys vary as do the size and complexity of the properties they cover, but generally range from £250 – £500

Specific defects

We offer this type of report for areas of specific concern to you as a property owner, the report will give you the following:

  • The area of concern and its effect on surrounding building elements.
  • The likely cause of the defect.
  • The long term effects of taking no action.
  • A recommendation as to how to remedy the problem.
  • A broad brush costing of the work to be undertaken.

The cost of these surveys vary as do the size and complexity of the properties they cover, but generally range from £250 – £550
